How long do you need to take MultiSpice before you notice a difference? Can it be taken in conjunction with other supplements such as Thyron?

MultiSpice and Thyron
by: Steve

Hi Judith,

Great to hear from you.

When you say notice a difference by taking MultiSpice do you mean getting rid or cravings, stabilising blood sugar levels or losing weight?

If you mean getting rid of cravings I'd say you should notice the effects immediately if you use it correctly, ie. taking it with lunch and dinner. That means you should not get cravings during mid-afternoon (so long as you have a mid-afternoon snack as well) or in the evening.

When it comes to stabilising blood sugar, it will depend on a person's degree of insulin resistance. However, I think that by reducing your carb intake slightly, using GI Factor and doing some exercise you should notice a significant improvement in a few weeks.

For weight loss, it may take a bit longer even though it does keep insulin low simply because so many other factors come into play.

Also, it is okay to use it in conjunction with Thyron.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Steve.

spices and herbs vs medicines

by Trevor
(Australia)

A very interesting read and of great interest. The BCN Multispice is something I look forward to trying. I would like to know if cloves, which contains Eugenol, more powerful than asprin?

Also, how is the comparison made? Are we talking one clove to one 100mg asprin or a bag of cloves to one 100mg asprin? What basis is a clove or cloves more powerful than asprin? An answer seems hard to obtain. And everyone knows asprin has side effects so why are cloves not promoted more.

My interest includes spices and herbs vs medicines because there seems to be little comparison on quantites but much talk on benefits. I'm seeking knowledge and a need to stay healthy without side effects.

Thank you.

clove vs aspirin
by: Steve

Hi Trevor,

Great to hear from you and thanks for your comments and questions.

With regards to a comparison between cloves and aspirin, I'm sorry to say that I don't know how to compare the amounts, i.e. 100mg aspirin equals xmg of Eugenol (the analgesic, anti-inflammatory ingredient in cloves).

In each serve of MultiSpice there is likely to be several hundred milligrams of clove but since it is not a TGA listed product it has not been tested for the level of active constituents.

Plus, depending on when the ingredients are harvested, levels of active ingredients may change somewhat.

May I suggest that if you are suffering from pain to some extent then try the maximum recommended dosage of MultiSpice, which is 2 capsules 3 times a day, and see if it provides you with some relief.

If it doesn't provide any relief then I suggest seeking medical advice from your doctor.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Steve.

Getting rid of cravings with MultiSpice
by: Steve

Hi Em,

Thanks for your question.

YES! MultiSpice can help to reduce cravings. The glucose disposal agents it contains helps to keep your blood sugar stable, which is one way you can easily overcome cravings.

If you take one capsule with lunch and one with dinner it can help you overcome the 'cravings danger times', which for most people are in the afternoon (around 3 or 4pm) and the evening (after dinner).

You may also want to consider your meal frequency and if your body may be deficient in certain essential nutrients.

Regards,

Steve.

menopausal weight gain

by TC
(La.)

As is common for post menopausal women I have found it very difficult to prevent the fat accumulation and to lose that fat. Prior to menopause I never had to diet or to even have an exercise plan to maintain an excellent weight. Now I am lost as to what to do and how to do it and how to overcome having had a lifetime of being able to eat what I wanted without having any fat problems.

menopausal weight gain
by: Steve

Hi TC,

Great to hear from you but I'm sorry to hear about your situation. You're absolutely right when you say that it is common for women to put on weight after they go through the menopause. However, there are several principles you can use to help you get the extra weight off.

Firstly, I suggest reducing your overall carbohydrate intake substantially. You will need to exercise every day and include resistance exercise at least 3 days a week.

You may also want to consider using natural progesterone creams which may make it easier to balance out your hormones. However, always speak with your doctor or other qualified healthcare practitioner when considering this option.

I have also written an article on the site that you may find useful: Post Menopausal Weight Loss

I hope you find the information useful.

Regards,

Steve.
