Article explained my weight loss difficulties

I am going to try your suggestion. I had been exercising and staying at 1500 calories a day and lost ten pounds which was significant for me.

Then I ate too much Halloween Candy and it took me 45 days to come down off that high calorie rush and need.

I plan to do the 1500 a day for three days and then eat about 1800 to 2000 on fourth or fifth day. Maybe I can stay better focused and not feel so deprived. Last time, it took me ten days to start losing and after that I wasn't as hungry at all.

Calorie Cycling

I think your suggestion is a great idea. Cycling your calorie intake works really well because it means your body's metabolism isn't likely to slow down compared to when you stick to a standard low-calorie intake all the time.

You're right that you're also likely to feel less deprived and won't have as many cravings.

Your approach is similar to having a 'Treat Day' or, more specifically, a 'Treat Meal' once or twice a week.

The other thing to keep in mind is the proportion of macronutrients rather than simply focusing just on calories alone.

I believe that is actually more important than overall calorie intake. I have personally overseen countless examples of people consuming more calories than their usual diet, but with a modification of their macronutrient profile, and as a result, they still lose weight! Just something to keep in mind.
