Very helpful

Thanks for this. When I started to lose weight last summer, I was very unfit and started off by walking to work, gentle swimming and Pilates, and (light) weights. This increased to running training and weights. Though I still walk a lot and still do Pilates and swim when I can, I strongly advise people to increase activity if they want to lose weight and anything is better. But thanks for a very helpful article reminding me of the benefits of my training.

Thanks for taking the time to add your comments and provide your feedback- I appreciate it! I totally agree with you, exercise does indeed play a major role in helping people achieve their weight-loss goal.

Unfortunately though, most people I meet who want to lose weight want a 'magic pill' that will do all the work for them while they continue sitting on the couch eating pizza and drinking beer! ;)

By simply making exercise a regular (and enjoyable) part of their lifestyle they will be able to lose all the weight they want and finally achieve the body of their dreams. All it takes is a little bit of effort!

Vicki, keep up the good work and I wish you all the very best for the future!
