These points comprehensively cover all the aspects necessary to address weight loss issues. It's not a one off diet fix but a diet solution and a plan for eating. Of course daily exercise is included as a must. Well done!

Looking for a natural cure for IR

by Debbie
(Illinois)

I was just at the doctor office today and received a report from labs I had done the week prior that confirmed I am at risk for developing diabetes. My doc wants to put me on Metformin ASAP. I DO NOT want to mask health issues. I want to cure them. He said I would not be able to cure this and I MUST take the drug. Scared, I went home and immediately got online to find a cure for IR. I stumbled upon your website and was excited to read that a cure was possible. I am sooooo ready to change whatever I need to change so that I will not have to take another life long drug. I am already taking thyroid med. I do not want to have a cabinet full of medication. I want to be healthy and this article has given me hope. I will follow the protocol. When I read the title of the booklet, "How To Lose All The Weight You Want In The Next 90 Days', I thought this is for me! My next doc appointment is in 90 days...how perfect is that! I have 90 days to get it together and take to heart your tips so I can lose weight and feel better and then see my doctor again with the astonishing results. Thanks!!!

cure insulin resistance
by: Steve

Hi Debbie,

Great to hear from you. I'm really pleased to hear that you found the information useful. Rest assured that your doctor is definitely wrong! Unfortunately, they get most of their information from pharmaceutical companies whose goal it is to sell product! I can guarantee you that if you follow the recomendations I provide, you will be able to normalise your blood sugar level and overcome the insulin resistance in a relatively short period of time.

If you have any questions as you go through the process or would like me to review your plan of action, please send it through to me. I'm only too happy too help.

Regards,

Steve.

Thank you so much

I was recently told by the doctor I had insulin resistance. I had no idea how serious this was as all i was told when I left her office was "well try and lose weight. If you cant we will try stomach banding." I was a thin teenager and in my early 20's so had no idea why I was gaining so much weight, and fast. I have had to google all information myself and your info so far has been very insightful.

Fibre balances I.R.

by Louise
(Auckland, New Zealand)

Hi,

I really appreciate the straight-forward advice and you giving methods that give hope rather than some others which inform you that it'll be really difficult and we may only be able to hold the insulin resistance where it currently is rather than start a return to normal.

I really get the importance of making sure you include fibre so it balances and slows down the intake of carb/sweet things and also just having a little at a time. We can still enjoy some of what we like but eating really small portions and include fibre.

THANKS,

Louise

cure insulin resistance without drugs
by: Steve

Hi Kristy,

Thanks for taking the time to give me your feedback. You're absolutely right! It is amazing that doctors don't offer people natural alternatives to help them overcome insulin resistance. The fact is, that it is such an easy condition to overcome that there is absolutely no need to go on medication if the problem is addressed correctly.

Unfortunately though, too many people rely on their doctors to look after their health instead of taking some personal responsibility and looking after their health themselves.

I wish you all the very best with overcoming IR and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Steve.

Thoughts on Insulin Resistance Syndrome

by Mrs Jane Balls
(Aldeburgh,Suffolk,UK)

I am so interested to read your article on Insulin Resistance Syndrome. I cannot shift much weight at all these days. I am 59 years old & very mindful of my weight creeping up.

I have been a member of slimmming clubs for years, in fact since my twenties. Now I weigh as heavy as I have ever been! From a health point of view alone I badly need to sort this out.

I am praying this might help?

Insulin Resistance
by: Steve

Hi Jane,

Thanks for your comments but I'm sorry to hear about your situation.

There are plenty of things you can do to get your weight under control quickly and easily. Some of the best principles are on this website! ;)

Over the years I have done many presentations to Weight Watchers groups here in Western Australia and I really like the approach they use. The support system they have in place is fantastic as well as the sense of belonging, community and non-judgement.

Unfortunately though, many people who go there tend to lose weight initially only to put it back on in the future because the basic principles they follow are not what I consider to be a long-term, sustainable approach.

Plus, I tend to disagree with a few of the basic nutritional principles because they are based on standard nutritional recommendations.

Simply reducing your food intake, without exercise, particularly resistance exercise, will result in a loss of both fat and muscle. A loss of muscle results in a reduction of your metabolic rate, which makes further weight loss more difficult.

To make matters worse, people who have some degree of insulin resistance are generally told to eat low fat!

Alternatively, they may be put on insulin medication which makes the situation even worse!

Okay, I'll get off the soap box now.

Jane, please spend some time reading the information on diabetes. I certainly don't claim to have all the answers but I do believe that the principles I recommend will work for you.

I wish you all the very best of success.

Regards,

Steve.

I recently lost 30kgs on a high protein diet (very boring). I had emergency back surgery 1 month later and have put 12kgs right back on. I am borderline diabetic (104 fasting). I can excercise by walking and do a mile a day and that's pushing it! I need help. I have 3 other women my age with the same issues. It's epedemic! HELP

Prevent weight re-gain
by: Steve

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Here is what I suggest doing in order to drop the weight again and keep it off. Please keep in mind that I'm not a doctor and you must check with them first before making any changes to your nutrition, exercise or supplementation habits.

Nutrition:
- Unfortunately, for people who have some degree of insulin resistance, low carb, high protein diets work! However, it doesn't have to be boring if you become very selective about your sources of carbohydrate.

For example, it is summer here in Perth and we've had a bit of a heat wave this month. As a result, I have felt like only having salad with some protein, so Annie and I have been making some amazing salads that taste absolutely delicious.

Just make sure you include in the salad small portions of olives (different flavours), sun-dried tomatoes, Danish fetta, nuts and seeds, and all the standard salad ingredients of course. To find out more, read the low carb, high protein diet in the 'articles section' and the 'chicken salad recipes article.

Exercise:
- If you can only walk a mile every day that is fine. The most important point is that you do it every day. Then, as you lose weight and it becomes easier perhaps try increasing the distance you do.

Also, try performing your walk first thing in the morning before breakfast on an empty stomach and perhaps after taking a thermogenic if you don't have high blood pressure.

- I also suggest performing some resistance exercise. If you can't join a gym that's fine. you do some exercises at home, see the 'Workout Routines For Women' article. It includes the 'Tone at Home' exercises.

Supplements:
- I strongly suggest taking the following supplements regularly:

- glucose disposal agents (with your main meals)
- fish oils
- multivitamin/ mineral supplement
- thermogenic (perhaps)
- antioxidants

If you have any questions on any of the areas I've mentioned here, please let me know.

I wish you all the very best with achieving your goal!

Regards,

Steve.
