Hi Steve,

Great article. just a few questions.

Can you provide me with some more information about adrenal exhaustion and how it effects the body?

Also, how much thermogenics is too much? For example, can you take it for 6 months or a year?

i started to take xlr8 last year and it really helped kick start my metabolism along with exercise. i took one tablet a day for about a month and then stopped as i was happy with my weight loss...

Since then i probably have put on a kilo or 2 so i have recently started to take it again.

In terms of achieveing results, how long does it take thermogenics to actually work and is it better to take the pills for 3 months... i.e. 120 capsules, rather than a month here or a month there?

How Long Should You Take Thermogenics For?

With regards to length of time for thermogenics use, I recommend only using them for a maximum of 3 months if you are having 1 capsule a day. If you use 2 caps a day then 2 months is probably long enough.

There are several reasons why:

Firstly, your body will 'down-regulate' the receptors on your nervous system in a relatively short period of time, which means that the effects of the thermogenics is lessened.

Also, stopping their use after a few months means that the adrenal glands get a chance to fully recover. Therefore, you reduce your chance of suffering from adrenal exhaustion.

In terms of how long it takes them to work, it depends on several factors, i.e. your eating and exercise habits, etc. The bottom line is this: Thermogenics start working immediately! They boost your metabolism, promote fat burning, increase energy, etc.

However, if you are doing everything right, it may take a week or so to actually notice the changes in your body.

There are several options when it comes to 'the best way to take them'. I believe it is either best to use them consistently, every day until you achieve your weight-loss goal rather than using them sporadically.

Alternatively, only use them on the days you intend to perform hard training sessions, i.e. 'leg day'. They can give the extra boost you need to work that bit harder on those days.

Interesting article steve :)

A few things...

Can you provide more information about adrenal exhausation. What it is and what happens to the body?

Also in terms of long term use. How much is too much?
ie. 6 months / 1 year?

What would you suggest is a good period to take a fat burner?

For instance...
I started taking XLR8 last year. I bought a 60 capsule bottle and almost finished it. It really helped me with losing approximately 5kg, along with increasing exercise and not being as stressed as i finished uni. I took one a day for about a month and a half.

I have started to take it again once a day as i got really sick and didnt do much for almost a month and put on 1-2kg. i am now slowly getting back into exercising again! So my question is how long would it take for a thermogenic to start working? In terms of energy and fat buring. Immediately or give it a week or 2..?

When it comes to use of thermogenics I suggest using them for a period of 8 weeks and then having 4 weeks off. However, if you are only using one capsule a day then you may be able to use it for a longer period of time.

When you use thermogenics they will start woeking immediately. However, depending on other lifestyle factors, you may or may not lose weight immediately.

I've been tossing up the idea of using fat burners but am going to have to have a real think now. I didn't realize that they had so many potential health hazards.

I had a friend who used them once and they said they had limited success but as summer is coming up I thought I may give them a go as well....at least before I really knew what they could do!
