Fish oil helped my Rheumitoid Arthritis

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in my right knee. I started taking Omega 3 fish oil twice a day for it every day for a month. I noticed in the 7th day of taking it, the retention of fluid had gone down and I could walk easier and the pain decreased immensely!


When I ran out of the Omega 3 fish oil for three days, I noticed immediately that the swelling and pain came right back. And so did my appetite. Your article about this subject is right on!

When to take fish oils

Hi Mary,

Thanks for your feedback and your great question.

I personally think that the best time to take fish oil is before going to bed. The reason why is because so much of the body is composed of omega-3s and at night time the body goes through the processes of repair, recuperation, recovery and rebuilding more than at any other time of the day.

However, it can be quite a lot of fish oil to take at once, especially if you're using capsules so you may want to take half in the morning and half in the evening simply for convenience.
