Here are the foods that burn fat fast! If you make an effort to include at least some of these foods in your diet on a daily basis you will be able to assist your body in burning off body fat fast! It is always important to keep in mind though that even if you consume these foods on a regular basis, the difference they can make to your weight-loss efforts, whilst it may be significant, is no where near as important as other nutritional principles, such as controlling portion sizes, controlling your sources of carbohydrates, having small, regular meals and ensuring you have protein with every meal.

Nevertheless, once you have the fundamental nutritional principles under control, the next step is to use additional principles to help you get results faster. Protein foods

Protein is unquestionably one of the foods that can help you burn fat fast for several reasons. Firstly, protein requires more energy to be digested and assimilated into the body compared to fat and carbohydrate. Therefore, it makes sense to have a small portion of protein every few hours throughout the day. By doing so, your metabolism speeds up and this may assist you in burning body fat. The metabolism-boosting effects of eating is also known as the 'Thermic Effect of Eating' (TEE).

Another reason why protein foods are considered to be one of the foods that can help you burn fat is because of the impact they have on the lean tissue mass in your body. Your lean tissue sources include your muscles and organs. These are the most 'metabolically-active' tissues in the body (in addition to nerve tissue) and therefore, burn up the most energy/ calories. Protein helps to maintain your lean body mass and that's why we should always consume small portions every few hours throughout the day. By doing so our metabolism stays elevated and we can burn body fat fast. Through this mechanism protein is indirectly considered to be one of the foods that burn fat fast.

Some examples of good protein sources include: steak, chicken, fish, eggs, beans, nuts, seeds and protein powder.



Stimulating foods

These are foods that stimulate the nervous system, thereby increasing the rate that the nervous system uses up fuel, i.e. increasing the metabolic rate. By doing so, it becomes easier to create a calorie/ energy deficit and therefore burn fat.

Most of these stimulating foods that burn fat fast are normal, everyday foods that most people consume fairly regularly. By simply making an effort to include them in your diet more regularly, you can help your body get a significant metabolism boost.

Some of the stimulating foods that burn fat fast include: coffee, coffee arabica, guarana, kola nut or another caffeine source, green tea, cayenne (pepper), chilli pepper (capsaicum) and mustard.



Certain oils

Certain oils are definitely one of the foods that burn fat fast. It may seem ironic because oils are fats and most people have been brainwashed into thinking that all fat is bad, especially if you want to burn body fat. However, research has shown quite conclusively that certain fats can actually promote fat burning in your body, which will assist your weight-loss efforts.

The most obvious example of oils that help you burn fat fast are fish oils. There are several direct and indirect mechanisms through which fish oils can help promote greater fat burning in your body including, increased cell membrane 'fluidity', oxygen transport and delivery, assists muscle growth and/ or maintenance, appetite suppressing effects and GI lowering effects.

Fish oils are a type of omega-3 fatty acid (essential fatty acid). The other type are omega-6 fatty acids. Both types are considered to be foods that burn fat fast mainly because they are a component of your cell membranes.
