good one

Hi, thanks for the quick 7 day weight-loss guide. It's really also a long term weight-loss guide as well. I like that you point out the exercise bits. Being a trainer myself I cannot put more intention on the weight training aspect myself. So many (especially) ladies come to me and say, 'but I walk 3x per week'. I then walk their walk with them and its not even 3 km!!! I then take them on my power-walk of 8 km in just under one hour and they break half way, telling me they can't do it. PLEASE!!! We're talking about walking here! Humans are designed to walk. That shows me that we have forgotten the basic principles of what nature gave our race! Also, I would like your advice on the first 3 days of the low carb eating. I have many clients with severe symptoms of dizziness, their brains slowing down (can't remember or think straight) and being unwell. I thought Chromium piccolinate would help. My thought being that the blood sugar runs havoc in those days because they are used to higher amounts of carbs. Sometimes it does the trick, but not always. What is your suggestion on it?

Thank you
Kati :-)

avoiding low carb dizziness
by: Steve

Hi Kati,

Great to hear from you.

Thanks for your comments and feedback on the article.

With regards to your clients experiencing dizziness resulting from low blood sugar levels I suggest gradually reducing their carb intake over a week or so. Perhaps start at around 100 grams a day and reduce it by about 20 grams every few days until they are having less than 50 grams of carbs a day. This gradual reduction will allow their body time to adapt to the lower carb intake. Chromium is definitely a good idea. It may be beneficial in helping to avoid sugar cravings and will also help to keep their blood sugar stable as they reduce their carbohydrate intake.

All the best Kati.

Regards,

Steve.
