Vegetarian Foods to Get Protein

Thanks for your updates. I have read your article today. Please provide a vegetarian list of foods that contain protein, like which foods gives which essential amino acids and in what quantity.


I also beleive our body cannot store protiens like fats and hence the extra or unutilised proteins are thrown out from our body, so please also give details of how much protein one should consume in a day and which foods have a good spread of essential amino acids. What about soya beans? It is believed to contain 52% proteins. Also give ideal amount of carbohydrates and fats to be eaten daily, both veg and non-veg separately.

Protein For Vegetarians

I hope you're well.

Here is the address of a great site, which provides plenty of information about sources protein for vegetarians: http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.htm

I couldn't find anything on the amounts of individual amino acids though. Nevertheless, I think if you are combining your protein sources correctly then you won't have any problems in getting an adequate amount of protein in your diet.

I don't recommend guys having too much soy-based products in their diet because of the high levels of phytoestrogens they contain. I suggest finding an alternative source of protein Harry.
