In this article we will cover how to lose belly fat fast and most importantly, ensure that you lose fat not weight; there is a big difference between the two!

You see, it is actually very easy to lose weight but it can be quite difficult to lose fat!

Losing weight is easy because often the weight that is lost comes from a variety of sources including, water, protein (lean tissue, which includes muscle), carbohydrate and fat! Virtually any weight loss program can help you lose weight from these sources.

On the other hand, losing fat is much more difficult simply because fat is considered by the body to be a valuable source of energy. In fact, because fat is such an energy-dense tissue, it is ideally suited for keeping you alive during a famine! That is the reason why it is so hard to lose. Your body doesn't want to get rid of it just in case you do experience a famine!

The reason why our body does this is because our physiology is almost identical to that of our ancestors from thousands of years ago when the main causes of death were infection and starvation.

The human body hasn't yet adapted to today's modern lifestyle and is still always prepared for the possibility of starvation. Of course, the best way to prepare for starvation is by preserving our fat stores!

As a result, you need to be very careful when selecting the correct weight loss, or rather, fat loss program for you. It is absolutely imperative that the program you follow makes an effort to help preserve your lean tissue, like muscle, whilst burning the maximum amount of body fat at the same time.

Unfortunately, very few weight loss programs do this. The vast majority of them focus almost exclusively on the scales and how much weight you lose rather than how much fat.

Whilst the scales may be a guideline, the major problem with this approach is the fact that if you do lose a lot of muscle on a particular weight loss program, your metabolism will slow down making further weight loss more difficult and increasing the likelihood that you'll put the weight back on a short time after following the program.

The only way to get results faster is to apply more of these laws in your own life!

    The problem is these laws require effort! They require you to perform activities that tell the body that it is not being starved and can therefore easily use the stored body fat as a fuel source because there is plenty of food coming in to the body.

    Most people, when they want to lose weight (fat), don't want to have to put in effort! They want it to be easy. In fact, they want it to be as easy as it was putting on the weight in the first place!

    Unfortunately, this attitude means that these people are easy prey for promoters of dubious weight loss programs that offer people 'solutions' that require little, if any, effort. Sure, these programs can help people lose weight fast, but ultimately, the weight they lose tends to be the wrong type of weight. It tends to be muscle, water and stored carbohydrate with very little fat!

    Then, almost always, when they finish the program they tend to put all the weight back on, if not more! This results in them looking for another weight loss program or diet to try.

    Nevertheless, there are weight loss programs that do focus on following the fundamental physiological laws that govern the human body. These programs give people the down-to-earth, honest truth about weight loss without 'sugar coating' the facts!
