Interesting

I find it an interesting and sensible approach for the most part but hasn't the latest research found that eating a small amount of low fat dairy each day assisted with weight loss? Is this possibly to do with the protein assisting to keep fuller for longer?

I am aware of calcium having a positive effect on weight loss but I am not aware of any research on dairy and weight loss specifically, especially since the calcium from dairy isn't that well absorbed.

If you do source any please let me know and I will review it.

Also, I am always a bit sceptical of the validity of 'research' to endorse the products from major food industries. I would be asking, 'Who funded the research?', 'Who conducted the research?' and 'Is there a body of research to support this theory?'

In saying this, I am certainly not 'anti-dairy'! I love ice cream and refuse to have any other type of milk in my coffee but I certainly don't make dairy foods an essential part of my daily diet.

I do know that for many people dairy foods make them retain fluid, which causes weight gain and also increases phlegm production in the lungs.

Furthermore, there is probably good reason why no other animal on the face of the Earth will drink the milk of another animal, so why should we? Just something to think about.

I think you are definitely right though when you mentioned that protein in dairy has appetite-suppressing effcts. Casein (one of the proteins) forms a gel in the gut, which slows down the passage of food through the intestine.

There is also a substantial amount of research available now indicating that protein from all sources does have appetite-suppressing effects and this is why I highly recommend having a small portion of it with every meal.
