Low Carb Food Lists
when used correctly can help you lose weight faster!
Low carb food lists are beneficial in helping you select the best carbohydrate sources for keeping insulin low. Examine this list of low carbohydrate foods, select the foods you enjoy and then make an effort to include them in your diet every day. This list of low carb foods will help you select the correct foods to add to your diet to ensure you provide you body with nutrient-dense, calorie-sparse, good carbohydrate foods. Ideally, you should endeavour to have at least 4-6 serves of these foods each day. Each serve from this list of low carbohydrate foods should provide around 5 grams of carbohydrates. They provide the body with a wide range of nutrients (phytonutrients) in combination with few calories. In order to lose weight, a good rule of thumb to follow is to consume less than 100 grams of carbohydrate per day. If this is spread over 5 meals it equates to be 20 grams of carbohydrates per meal.
This means that in a meal you may want to have 2 serves of carbohydrate from this list of low carbohydrate foods in combination with a medium-density carbohydrate source, like sweet potato or perhaps a small serve of a high-density carbohydrate like rice. People that have some degree of
insulin resistance
should endeavour to have 50 grams of carbohydrate or less per day. This will assist them in reversing the condition, especially if they combine this type of diet with a suitable exercise program and
glucose disposal agents.
This list of low carbohydrate foods is certainly not exhaustive but it does provide you with a good starting point from which to select some of your carbohydrate sources. These foods tend to contain more fibre and water and less carbohydrate. They are often referred to as low-density carbohydrates. Not only do they have little impact on your blood sugar and therefore insulin levels themselves, but they also will help slow down the absorption rate of any other carbohydrates consumed in the meal. By doing so, your blood sugar level will stay stable, which will keep your appetite suppressed, keep insulin levels low and therefore will assist your body in accessing and burning fat as a fuel source. The beauty of eating these foods is that you can eat an enormous amount of them without them having a major impact on your overall calorie intake. Plus, if you eat many of them in their raw, natural state they are likely to retain many of their live enzymes, which can assist the digestive process and improve your overall health.
