low fat "coconut milk"

by Lynn
(Western Australia)

A healthier option to using coconut milk in curries, is to use Carnation Coconut Flavoured Evaporated Milk. It is low fat, and tastes just as good as the real thing.

Before it was available, I used to add coconut essence to the "Skinny Tinny" (low fat evaporated milk) with the same or similar results.

low fat curries
by: Steve

Hi Lynn,

Thanks very much for your suggestion!

I love curries but am always concerned about the high level of fat they tend to have and since I'm definitely not a gourmet chef (to say the least!), I'm wrapped to hear that I can still enjoy my curries without worrying about the fat content.

Curries are one of the very few dishes I can make (unless you consider 101 ways to prepare chicken and rice different meals!).

I'm sure visitors to the site will appreciate the information too Lynn so thanks again!

Regards,

Steve.
