menopausal weight gain

by TC
(La.)

As is common for post menopausal women I have found it very difficult to prevent the fat accumulation and to lose that fat. Prior to menopause I never had to diet or to even have an exercise plan to maintain an excellent weight. Now I am lost as to what to do and how to do it and how to overcome having had a lifetime of being able to eat what I wanted without having any fat problems.

Hi TC,

Great to hear from you but I'm sorry to hear about your situation. You're absolutely right when you say that it is common for women to put on weight after they go through the menopause. However, there are several principles you can use to help you get the extra weight off.

Firstly, I suggest reducing your overall carbohydrate intake substantially. You will need to exercise every day and include resistance exercise at least 3 days a week.

You may also want to consider using natural progesterone creams which may make it easier to balance out your hormones. However, always speak with your doctor or other qualified healthcare practitioner when considering this option.

I have also written an article on the site that you may find useful: Post Menopausal Weight Loss

I hope you find the information useful.

Regards,

Steve.
