Thanks for your comments. You're absolutely right! Everyone know that if they want to lose weight they need to eat less and exercise more, but how many people actually do it! It really is that simple!

Of course, 'life' often gets in the way with social events and family gatherings that stop us from eating as well as we would like and exercising regularly. Nevertheless, if we make an effort to do the right things most of the time we will be able to still achieve our weight-loss goal and maintain it, in addition to improving our overall health.

Your advice has just pointed me in the right direction. I've tried lots of different ways to try to lose weight, with not much success. Being a mum with 4 children you forget about yourself. Now it's my turn! I'll be able to read and finally get myself back into shape.

Excellent straightforward advice

The 7 tips provide sound advice to any person who is serious about weight loss. I also believe that you have cracked some of the myths of weight loss within those 7 tips.

My weight has been a roller coaster ride for the past two years and having just come through breast cancer, six surgeries and chemotherapy, I have put on weight, lost weight and found an exercise and diet regime impossible.

Now that I am on the mend, I can start looking at weight loss efforts and my diet more seriously. My muscle tone has depleted, my energy levels are low and I really want to start feeling fit and healthy again.

Of course, I advise, as you have, that you seek your doctor's approval before implementing any weight loss programme. I am very excited about putting your tips into practice.

TIME TO REPROGRAMME MY THINKING

no meat for me

I can fully vouch for your system. A few years ago I became very focused and repeatedly set myself 4 week mini goals losing 10kg or more each time. I didn't rebound inbetween either by keeping up my exercise and keeping the majority of my food the same, just allowing myself alcohol, dinners and the odd icecream. I was able to do a 7km fun-run and lots of gym classes.

A lot has happened since I was that focused and I'm now almost back to my heaviest weight, a mum to a 5 month old baby and a vegan, primarily for ethics so won't be changing back to the protein sources that helped me lose weight quickly then.

I'm content to lose it more slowly by incorporating your other principles. I'm interested to see what's in this e-book.

5 to 6 small meals

Ever since I read that eating 5 to 6 small meals was the way to go I felt relieved as that is my natural eating style but I've always felt guilty about feeling hungry or 'peckish' when nobody else was. It makes sense to eat small meals rather than get really hungry and eat a big meal then not know when to stop!
