Thought on the Thermogenics article.

by Ken
(Attleboro, MA)

I thought this was a very well written article in that you did not try to get into big terms and wrote in a away that most people could follow. Also, your examples at the beginning of the "How the Best Thermogenics Work" were very illustrative. Finally, the best portion of the article was the fact that you stressed that no fat burner is a magic pill and rather a supplement to healthy eating and working out.

One point that you may have missed: if you ever decide to stop using them, will your body overcompensate for loss of the supplement and retain more fat than before ever taken the supplement?

Thoughts on Thermogenics
by: Steve

Hi Ken,

Thanks for your feedback and comments and for bringing up a great topic.

When it comes to rebound weight gain I don't think it occurs after using thermogenics unless a person increases their food intake.

For example, let's say a person wants to lose weight so they follow a 1500 calorie a day diet and their body burns up 1500 calories a day. In this case they won't lose weight because of the 'calorie equilibrium'.

However, if they then take a thermogenic that may increase their body's calorie expenditure by say another 200 calories per day, this then creates a calorie deficit so they can now lose weight.

Once they achieve their weight loss goal if they then stop using the thermogenic but maintain their 1500 calories per day diet and their body will still be burning up 1500 calories per day so they won't gain the weight back that they lost.

Of course, if they weigh less their body may need less calories per day so they may also need to reduce their calorie intake slightly. However, I don't think they will 'rebound' and put the lost weight back on.

Thanks again Ken.

Cheers,

Steve.
