Thyroid symptoms

by Kerry Hodson
(Perth WA)

I have a hypothyroid condition called Hashimoto's Disease. While it includes all the symptoms you list in your article, it is an auto-immune deficiency that requires synthetic hormone replacement.

I understand there is potential for organ deterioration if my condition is left unchecked.

My understanding is that blood tests are necessary to determine the cause of hypothyroidism.

It may be that some people benefit from taking Thyron, but if they suffer from Hashimoto's Disease my advice is that they need to take a synthetic hormone called Thyroxin.

My experience is that Thyroxin makes a huge difference, and that is in line with advice that if you have to have an auto-immune condition, Hashimoto's Disease is the one to have because it is completely treatable.

I hope this feedback is useful.

Hashimoto's Disease
by: Steve

Hi Kerry,

Thanks for your comments- I appreciate your input and information.

You're absolutely right! People with Hashimoto's Disease must take medication in order to maintain relatively normal thyroid hormone levels in their body.

Furthermore, Thyron is designed for people with sub-optimal thyroid function as opposed to people with Hashimoto's Disease, an inactive thyroid gland or if they have had their thyroid gland removed.

In fact, Thyron may be potentially harmful for someone with Hashimoto's Disease because it will promote greater production of thyroid hormones from their thyroid gland, which means that the person's immune system is likely to attack the thyroid gland even more!

I will be writing an article soon that will describe Hashimoto's Disease in more detail.

Once again Kerry, thanks for your comments.

Regards,

Steve.
