The Truth About Garcinia Cambogia

Garcinia Cambogia is touted as being the 'new' weight-loss wonder supplement, but does the research support the hype surrounding it, or is it likely to become another statistic in the weight-loss supplement graveyard?

After reviewing the research conducted on it so far it appears that there is little benefit for humans with regards to weight loss. All the human studies conducted provide mixed results with most finding no change in body weight or body fat levels. A couple of studies did note a very modest weight loss improvement above the placebo (i.e. 1.2kg greater weight loss over 12 weeks, 100g a week!). However, most studies found that there was no difference between the placebo group and the treatment group!

Truth About Garcinia Cambogia

Other studies showed that Garcinia Cambogia does not promote greater fat burning or increase energy expenditure (speed up metabolism). One study found that it worked better when used in combination with other active ingredients.

More research definitely needs to be conducted on this compound before any conclusions regarding weight loss can be made, but at this stage you're better off spending your money on weight-loss supplements that have been proven to work!
