weight loss AND gain

by Robert
(L.A.)

I have kind of an unusual question and need your expertise please.

I am 45 years old and for the most part have always been in pretty good shape. I am very active and participate in a lot of sports.

Here is the problem: I have been kind of lazy over the last year or so and have consumed more beer than usual and have come to put on a few more pounds than I would like. But the thing is this, obviously, the pounds go straight to the gut, so I have about 6-8 lbs to shed. The other thing is, I have been going to the gym every day for about 3 weeks now and love it. I'm addicted but I am trying to accomplish 2 things at the same time. While trying to get rid of the beer lbs, I am also trying to put on healthy lbs. I am currently taking Muscle Milk before and after my workouts and also Creatine after.

My questions is this: Is it ok to take some type of weight loss pill for assistance in shedding the gut while also taking the weight gain formulas and protein shakes? Or should I just take the weight gain stuff and let my treadmill take care of the beer lbs?

Also, is taking the Whey Protein and Creatine defeating the purpose of losing the bad lbs first? Should I wait to lose the desired 6 or so lbs before going to the weight gain formulas?
