Weight Training Routines and Weight Loss
Weight training routines are such an important part of any weight-loss program. Unfortunately though, many people don't realise their importance and as a result,
tend to neglect them. If you are serious about getting the best possible results from your weight-loss efforts then you must use weight training programs!
There are several reasons why weight training programs should be a major part of a weight-loss program and the main reasons revolve around the fact that
they have a significant impact on our muscle mass.
The Benefits of Weight Training Routines
Positive impact on your metabolism Muscle is one of the most metabolically-active tissues in the body and as such burns up a lot of energy. Therefore,
finding ways to at least maintain or better still, increase your muscle mass, is a great way to burn off body fat and lose weight fast!
Oftentimes, when someone wants to lose weight they will tend to neglect weight training programs under the mistaken belief that they will 'bulk up'
or look more masculine. Whilst it may be possible to increase your muscle mass by performing regular weight training programs, this will only occur if
you increase your food intake. If you don't increase your food intake, you won't increase your muscle mass. Therefore, if you control your food intake, as you should do if you want to lose weight
you will simply maintain your muscle mass and will be able to keep your metabolism elevated.
Prevents muscle loss If you want to lose weight and you don't perform weight lifting exercises, your body will indiscriminatly lose both fat and muscle tissue.
In fact, up to half the weight you lose will come from muscle, which means your metabolism will slow down and further weight loss will become more difficult.
Regular weight training routines will at least force your body to maintain its existing muscle mass as you lose weight, which means you will keep your metabolism
elevated and will be able to burn off body fat faster. You may lose a small amount of muscle but nowhere near as much as you would lose if you didn't perform the weight training programs.
Increase fat burning during post-workout cardio Since weight training routines are a high intensity form of exercise, your body will use a greater
proportion of carbohydrate as a fuel source during the session. This means that when you perform cardio immediately after the weight training you body will be in a
carbohydrate-depleted state. Therefore, a greater proportion of fat may be used as a fuel source. This fat-burning effect can be magnified even further by using a
thermogenic prior to the exercise session.
Burns up extra calories High intensity exercise means that a larger number of calories will be burnt up during the exercise session. Therefore,
weight training routines are one of the best forms of exercise to perform in order to help you burn up more calories each day. This means that creating a calorie deficit
will be much easier and this means you can lose weight faster.
Weight training routines are one of the most under-estimated ways to burn off body fat and lose weight fast! If you are serious about getting the best possible
results from your weight-loss program then make an effort to incorporate weight training programs into your plan. If you would like to get some sample
